Almost there
I kept trying,
Unearthing rubble,
Clearing the dust,
Feeling it filling my lungs,
My breath growing thin.
Ceaselessly, I worked till my hands stalled,
And the muscles in my feet went slack.
Then I crawled and clawed, slithering like a snake,
Using my mouth to clear the dust,
But then my jaws dislocated,
And now, it hangs off my face...
Unearthing rubble,
Clearing the dust,
Feeling it filling my lungs,
My breath growing thin.
Ceaselessly, I worked till my hands stalled,
And the muscles in my feet went slack.
Then I crawled and clawed, slithering like a snake,
Using my mouth to clear the dust,
But then my jaws dislocated,
And now, it hangs off my face...
