Then try to catch all the pieces and choose the better parts
Because although the words are lyrical
The story behind each song is individual
Reaching around the walls you build on the wounds of regret
To hide and protect the scars you hoped to forget
And now music has got you eating from a bowl of reality
Choking on all the hard grains of possibility
Because life is music on a scale, moving up and down
With all the preaching and the politics to spin your head around
Music can send you a few steps back in time
To places and embraces
That you thought you'd left behind
To a place when love was only in your mind
And romance felt so easy to just let it slide
When you believed in things and so you'd sing
Because life is a song, with your thoughts as the music
So if therapy is due, go ahead and sing the blues
Music will move your body soul and spirit
It's a sacred gift, with a message and a purpose

So tell us a story be it happy or sad
Just sing it clear and sing it strong
