The Journey
Sweating in the family-sized van,
I have never felt happiness as such.
Engulfed in a warm blanket of the summer heat, the time seems to have stopped
In the front of the car, my parents are chatting about the weather
My beloved sat beside me, eager to experience the beauty of the Polish mountains
Awaiting our arrival patiently, a twinkle in his eye as he babbles on about the magnificence of
the landscape.
He’s captivated by the world, it’s the first time I’m seeing him like this.
The cool breeze splashing against our faces like the gentle waves of a stormless ocean.
I feel fulfilled, content, like everything leading up to this moment of serenity was worth the
pain of the past.
