The Forest Beyond The Frontier

On the frontier, fog floating from the forest.
A gravel road, growing out from a gray city,

Music mesmerizes me from the mist,
Soothing my soul.
An ancient ache, an ulcer of urbanization,
Eases, eventually erased,
As I walk through the wondrous wood.
The murk melted away, and what did I see?
Columns of trees, of hazel and chestnut.
Supporting a roof of emerald and jade,
The ground...
