Unrequited
#WritcoPoemPrompt115
Threw out old boxes, with
Regrets and photographs,
Empty pockets and lockets,
releasing the clutter
of yesterday.
Sifting through memories
As each one slips away.
Wondering if the pain ever subsides,
I drop each trinket into a new and unfamiliar future.
Uncertain how to proceed.
Hoping for better days.
Knowing that you are out there.
Thinking about anyone but me.
Indifference permeates your aura.
Never looking back No regrets.
With your cup overflowing.
Undeservedly full and abundant.
No thoughts of what once was.
Oblivious to the wreckage you left in your wake.
Contemplation is not for the weak.
