i see you when i sleep
i pushed you away
i've staggered and swayed

and yet when i sleep
in your arms is what i dream
i heed in your warmth
and i drown in your ease
and i've never been happier
then when i am asleep

i can't face the truth
of how deep i've gone to not plead
and now that you're gone
i see and breath stuffy fatigue

the only time i can feel
what we may have had before
is in the depths of my dreams
in the deep of sleep
