Growing Everyday
When I was a little kid of five,
I was like this cocoon who couldn't wait to turn into a butterfly,
Unaware of the harsh reality of the sky,
I just wanted to grow these huge wings and fly;

But when growth came, it came like a tide,
It washed away my innocence, it took away my childish pride,
And all I was left with, was insecurity and doubt,
Growth was(is) painfully slow, but any faster and I would have passed out;

Growth was that one cringey and uncomfortably loud phase,
Growth was when I thought I looked great in two pony tails,
Growth was deliberately listening to sad songs and making myself cry,
Growth was, when at friend's place, trying to look innocent and shy;

Growth was when I lost that same friend,
Growth was when I learnt to let go,
Growth was looking down at myself and accepting I had flaws,
Growth was working on them and moving on;

Growth is knowing growth will be forever and figuring out what growth will be tomorrow.
