Cinnamon Dulce
Use to drinking plain coffee,
not dressed up.
Used to paying what it cost me,
right when I thought I messed up.
Today I sipped something different
this one time was like the best of.
Today I felt different
mixing opinions inside my caressed cup.
Opened something that was missing
A friend to listen
over something so warm.
Conversations I had that I never knew I'd want.
Like the eye of the storm
dancing on my tongue.
Lie and say your sweeter than a lemon,
in your presence I'm calm.
Give me a few seconds and the feelings will form.
Feelings will swarm,
like debris in it all.
I'd lie to say I needed get another one,
just another different taste evolved.
Heart so heavy its cumbersome
As I wipe the sugar from face
Knowing I never really wanted to replace
That's the part I hate
Pretending nothing happened the next day
And I'm left with the question
What do I want?
This time with my morals intact
"One small coffee please,
No sugar, no milk, just black."
