a game
have you ever dived
in the sea of uncertainties,
where you were drowning
in your own despair?
have you ever pondered
before you gambled
in the game called love?
i was sitting next to a man
whose familiarity was gone.
the resounding silence
that enveloped us
was exasperating.
the sky was placid
but a storm was raging
inside my head.
you looked at me
with no fondness.
i felt a pang
inside my chest, and
the heaviness of the tears
begging to escape
from my weary eyes.
my sweet, tender lover,
you made me long for
the taste of your lips,
the softness of your touch,
and the fairytale we once have.
but you left.
you left with no words.
i was merely
just your pawn.
i lost.
