star-crossed love
In fields of green, where wildflowers swayed,
I met my first love on a sunny day.
Her eyes were bright, her smile so wide,
My heart took flight, my soul inside.
She was my everything, my shining star,
But alas, we were worlds apart.
I couldn't stay, she couldn't go,
Our love was doomed from the start.
We danced beneath the setting sun,
Our laughter echoed, our hearts as one.
But when the night fell, we said goodbye,
And I knew I'd never see those eyes.
Days went by, memories remained,
A bittersweet refrain.
Though I had loved before,
Never like I did before.
For she was my first true love,
The one that got away.
And though I'vent loved since then,
No one could ever replace.
