Understanding
My existence in this life just seems so wrong
Nothing in my lifetime has ever felt right
Continually searching for a purpose to belong
Everything seen with more vision than sight
I was given a soul filled with love
Only to be surrounded by pain
Seeking comfort in the man above
My life without him has nothing to gain
He makes no mistake we are all meant to be
I'm just exhausted trying to find the surface
I could use an angel to help guide me
A guide toward the path that holds my purpose
It's hard to be strong if you never know weak
But I have spent my entire life having to fight
Comfortable peace is really all I seek
A place of safety to lay down my head at night
As I look around at so much selfish greed
Humans seem to kill with no value for life
It shouldn't be so easy to make another bleed
Easier it seems for love to replace the knife
