I would look at you from afar,
Even when we are close friends,
I feel as if I am not on par,

But why do you make me cry so long?
Maybe I see you too much but then I do not see.

It’s difficult to see you smile,
I hate it when you laugh in glee,
I don’t like how people admire you from a mile,
But when you cry, why does it upset me?
It hurts me to be friends with you,
It pains me to see people praise,
I feel insecure standing beside you,
When they all love you with that craze,
The craze for you in their eyes,
I can see it so bright,
I hate them; this world filled with lies,
As I try to ignore it with all my might.

I know I am jealous,
Jealous of who you are,
Jealous of who you can have,
And jealous of what you have,
Because I know, I will never be you,
They would never give me that limelight,
And then there’s you, thinking you are better than others,
You would never let me win in your sight.

I know you hate me,
You hate me with all your might,
Ready to take everything that once was mine,
You know I can’t fight,
Tell me, can I ever fight?
When they are ready to choose you over me,
I would be swallowed by your light,
Then there won’t be me, you will see!
But I know, they shall forget,
It’s like I never existed,
When you are the power,
They wouldn’t regret,
Even when I died for them,
What a shame!
