I sit in the soft hue of the fairy lights in my new living room,
surrounded by boxes of clutter and chaos.
listening to the ambience of a heart warming playlist,
the lights glisten on the liquor bottles already proudly displayed,
on the new ikea shelves, a new wine stain brandishing the carpet of my new rental

I wonder, as I sit on the floor of cushions ‘when will this place feel like home?’
I look over to the hallway and already I know I dislike the ceiling lights,
however for now I will remain contempt with my small flat,
of fairy lights and boxes of chaos, whilst i sit and ponder…

‘how the f*ck will I get a sofa up those damn stairs’
