It's 4 am and I'm holding her hands walking down the stairs
I see happiness in her eyes but with a little fear
I hug her close as we reach the car
Trying To make that fear disappear

And she looks so beautiful right now
Her face just has that magic glow
I can still remember how excited she was
The first time that she got to know

The surprised look she had on her face
As she comes into the living room
A moment that brings us tears of joy
That changes both our lives that afternoon

And just like the sun arise every morning
from that moment she started to glow
And every day she becomes more beautiful
As the life inside her begins to grow

And she would just laugh as she woke me
Wakes me up all hours of the night
Sending me out to the stores
When she gets one of her many craving appetites

And every day I can see the changes in her
As the days slowly turns into weeks
Right now she's eating a piece of sliced lemon
And smiling at me with her cute chubby cheeks

She says that being pregnant is a license
A license for her to eat whatever she craves
And she told me to try it and when I said no
She laughed at me saying "come on be brave

And just knowing that I’m a part of her life
Is a blessing God has bestowed on my life
Her pain is getting stronger as we pull into the parking lot
The day that we've waited for has finally arrived

I look at her laying on the hospital bed
The excitement on her face shows so clear
And I kiss her head and whisper in her ear
Everything will be OK " dont worry I’m here

No words can express the heroism
Beauty and majesty of her courage
And though this role is completely new to her
She’s ready to step on the motherhood stage

And she will teach our child values and wisdom
And all the love she possesses in her
Letting him know that respect, understanding, and honestly
Will light his future like a shining star

A brand new future starts for us today
She was so brave and strong thought it all
And as we hug our newborn baby boy
Our tears of joy began to fall
