Warning signs aplenty, but I seen none.

Mistook for beauty, an elegant form
…but that definition just doesn’t fit.
There must be a heart but it’s void of warmth;
Feigning compassion- your own benefit

Repeated invites, giving affection,
Encouragement to get things underway.
True int’rests a diff’rent direction
…I lay the blame on my naïveté

It’s good that things didn’t go very far
I would’ve been in it with my whole heart.
