Reconciliation
The Valley and the hill
A sight to see
He with the band and quill
Ruling us for ages to be.
Lying on the surface
A connection you can not trace
That come to brace
And put a smile on the face.

Doing our normal day
Then the white ones came.
Our talk they couldn’t say
Their talk felt the same.
Gold they want
Love we sought.
Man they think is top
Man we think is equal.
Land they see is to make
Profits that are not our take.

So reducing was our people
As worse were done,
While working with a sickle,
The child gets dragged with force,
To the sweet sad slide,
Without a yes from the parent.

So began the journey to hell,
As the kids were forced to learn,
The do and talk they don’t tell
So theirs they wouldn’t yearn.
They say the school is good,
But for whose good exactly,
For their goal is to wipe,
Out the whole Indian tribe.

Abuse did the kids face,
Both the brain and body.
Talk and do of their race,
It was of no story.
But that was not the only case,
Cut off were they from the family,
As if that wasn’t enough,
Did some end up dying.

The act from the Angel,
In the Devil’s garment
Was later put to an end
But after being put into a river of stones
How can the trauma be decreased
In our traumatic minds.

Truly the act can not be erased,
But does that mean we should,
Leave it that way it was based.
Instead try to amend what we could.
The act affected all as a nation,
And we all should support the notion
To promote reconciliation,
With a purposeful co-operation.

In charge is the commission,
With their call to action,
Stating that the act be told,
To the people by the doers,
So they know their previous acts,
Which now makes them a saint.
Role they had is made clear,
To the people that have to hear.

Stones were turned to bread,
Or should we say a stone was removed,
As this action that was done and said,
Would have us Indians relieved.
Bringing the society into one,
As it lightens the heart.

Truly not all Call to Actions has been done,
But this is a step to bringing us as one,
To promote reconciliation,
We need to achieve that in this nation,
By relieving the Indians of the sorrow caused
And to elevate harmony
And live in peace in the society.
