The stars don't do it,
nor does the sunrise.
Money can't buy it
laurels don't suffice.

You can't find it in social norms,
nor in your family's expectations,
your victories don't matter
in life's final examinations.

Wherever you are searching
is probably the wrong spot,
you look for it everywhere
but fail to connect the dots.

Happiness doesn't lie outside,
in the goals, the material things,
achievements can't make you happy,
if you're not really searching for it.

Only one thing can do the trick
you and your heart and soul,
quit looking for it in the wrong places,
the happiness within can make you whole.

True happiness is strength,
it doesn't break in the middle of a fight,
whether you can see it or not,
there lies within you a never dying light.
