When I stare at the clouds,
I dream about life many years from the now.
I wonder what the world is about
& will I even ever get an honest account.

Who knows the in's and the out's?
The early differences between the verbs and the nouns?
("Aside") Like a dog at the pound, or petty, empty wallet in the lost and the found.

Since the fox and the hound, notorious for always being down and (ching) out.
Is my family around? Who are all these people in the rest of the town?
Speaking out still allowed? Is life best lived never making a sound?
Dawn a permanent frown? Noticed if you've truly even smiled in a while?

Am I just in denial?
What happens when the value of opinion is out?
Simply thinking aloud?
Are people just a moment in the ups or the downs?
Whether next on the mound, crowd, or maybe, somehow out of bounds;
If tonight you had drown, could you rest and say that you are honestly proud?
