WISHING FOR A STAR
Wishing for a star,
Up in the sky so far,
A glimmering light,
That shines so brightly.
I gaze up above,
My heart filled with love,
And make my wish,
With a hopeful swish.
I wish for peace,
For all wars to cease,
For love to abound,
And hate to be drowned.
I wish for healing,
For hearts that are reeling,
For comfort to reign,
And ease all the pain.
I wish for joy,
For every girl and boy,
For smiles to be wide,
And happiness inside.
I wish for a world,
Where all dreams unfurled,
And hope springs anew,
With each day anew.
So I keep wishing for that star,
For a world that is not too far,
Where love, peace, and joy,
Are no longer just a ploy.
