They say silence is beauty,
Silence is gold,
Silence is strong,
But is silence peace?
Would silence be able to talk abt the days I've cried myself to sleep?
Would silence silence those who have screamed?
Or sing about the small things I have achieved?
Would silence be able to transplant my heart,
Into others so that they could feel what I've felt?
Because the words that were left unspoken were often ignored,
Or maybe acknowledged in a horrendous manner,
By saying "you're a beautiful writer",
And nothing else about the subject matter,
And this beautiful torture would ensue,
As people would ask me "why this rue? ",
And I could only reply, as if I had a definite answer,
A short smile and a "nothing",
Because if they really wanted to know,
Then perhaps I would have never chosen silence to be my language,
Or made unspoken words and repressed emotions my identity.
