I am a child
I am a child
Young, wild and free
I learn from sunny hopes
And encourage ones with dusty dreams
Young, bold and bright
My future is yet to come.

I am a child
This is my voice
This is what I have to say
Give me life, give me education
Do not abuse me
I do not want your pity
For I am not a hopeless pup
I do not want your charity
For I will strive at first chance
I do not want your mistrust
For being young is not a crime
I do not want your prejudice
For that is your prison, not mine.

I am a child
Scared to breathe in the air,
Because I don't know the chemical.
Scared to hear of plants and animals
Going extinct everyday, vanishing forever.

I am a child
Dreaming of the great herds of wild animals,
Jungles and rainforests full of birds and butterflies,
But now I wonder if they will exist
For my children to see.

I am a child
I may look young in your eyes
But I am older than you
For I was born at the beginning of time.

And I qoute " You are not mature enough to tell it like it is. Even that burden that you leave to us children. We have not come to beg world leaders to care. You have ignored us in the past , and you will ignore us again.. We have come her to let you know that change is coming whether you like it or not."
