Alone in Darkness, Seeking Light and Solace

Oh, how my soul doth languish in despair,
In sorrow's grip, I plea for respite sweet,
The weight of woe, too heavy now to bear,
My spirit aches, in need of kind retreat.

A tempest rages deep within my breast,
Where shadows lurk and specters haunt my mind,
Oh, grant me peace, and let my heart find rest,
In word or touch, some solace I may find.

For in this hour of bleak and dismal gloom,
The comfort of a friend I dearly seek,
To chase away the shadows, and illume
The path ahead, where hope and joy may speak.

So lend thine ear, and soothe my troubled soul,
Let kindness reign, and make my spirit whole
