My mind was gripped by an unknown fear
I saw myself drowning in a whirlpool of thoughts
I was thrown into a big, deep bottomless pit
with only darkness as my lone faithful companion
Choking with fear, I gasped for that little bit of fresh air and let out loud screams
beseeching, fervently pleading
weeping..shamelessly, inconsolably
helplessly looking out for that outstretched arm, any arm
The arms that reached out offered me countless colored pills
My outstretched hands grabbed at this offering
that spelled succor in a colorless world
willing my mind to slow down just a wee bit
Yet, sleep refused to rise to this bait
I couldn't care...
