Sometimes I like to be an open book

To feel empathy and love from others,

To feel intense emotions and

To be free to feel.

But I remember that sometimes,

Being so open hurts.

Being like a book shows your deepest parts.

Being so open can be used against you.

Sometimes I wish there was a way to connect,

Without feeling the pain,

The hurt,

And the truth.

Sometimes I wish that my chapters were written

In invisible ink.

Open to the world

But hidden inside me.


Sometimes I could rewrite some paragraphs,

So that the truth becomes a lie,

The reality turn into fantasies,

And secrets turn into nothing.


Sometimes being an open book sucks,

Because memories are powerful,

And the risk of being an open book,

Becomes a life -threatening choice.
