India's Southwest Monsoon
#MonsoonPoem

From a distance,
the incessant chant of india from south west monsoon

From the Indian Ocean, whispers rise,
Clouds amass in vast, gray skies.
Over Kerala's coast, they first appear,
June heralds the monsoon’s cheer.

A southern breeze, warm and strong,
Carries a rhythm, a welcome song.
Through Karnataka, Maharashtra, it flows,
Giving life as it freely bestows.

Fields of rice, pulses, and cotton sway,
Waiting for this blessed, rainy display.
Drops fall heavy, fierce, and fast,
Feeding the soil, while rivers amass.

July peaks with thunder’s might,
Bringing dark days, cool nights.
Yet as September’s winds grow mild,
The monsoon starts to fade, beguiled.

It leaves its mark, in fields reborn,
In streams that swell with summer’s morn.
A season that shapes India’s tune—
Life, love, and light—the southwest monsoon.
