I'm everyone's afterthought
they only think of me when they think of you
they only invite me because they invited you too
And although I want you there
it would be nice to be the first one they think of
for once

it's not just them
it feels like it's everyone
you only like me when the person your into doesn't like you too
you only talk to me when you've exhausted every other option
for a while I thought I was your first choice
for someone that you like
but turns out it was someone else
it's always someone else

I always try to rationalize
come up with reasons why you do it
they never work
no matter what I'll always be your afterthought
I'll never be your first choice nor your last

but turns out your not the first
turns out it's happened with everyone I like
they act like they like me too
call me pretty and cute
but in the end it was just to keep you occupied while you fell for someone new

I no longer feel like being an afterthought
something that stays in your mind until you are bored and want something interesting
in my mind there can only be two options
either you tell me how you feel and love me the way I know I deserved to be loved, concesley
or leave me and stop leading me on every once in awhile
keep your distance so I can finally find someone in this world that will finally think of me first and not just the attachment of someone else
