lonely
I don’t know how to start this poem
except that I pulled it out of loam
With every tear I cry
I find myself asking why
Things turn out the way they do
Like a me without a you
And an eye without a sea
of tears that could bring you back
I wish you’d answer my call
It feels like there is a wall
Chipping away at the chip on my shoulder
It feels like a boulder
Ready to sink me in a sinkhole
I pray that somewhere in the silence
I’ll find myself whole
except that I pulled it out of loam
With every tear I cry
I find myself asking why
Things turn out the way they do
Like a me without a you
And an eye without a sea
of tears that could bring you back
I wish you’d answer my call
It feels like there is a wall
Chipping away at the chip on my shoulder
It feels like a boulder
Ready to sink me in a sinkhole
I pray that somewhere in the silence
I’ll find myself whole
