Ablaze

She sets her foot in his house,
Full of dreams for a new life
Little does she know
What fate has in store for her...

It starts with everyday nagging
Finding faults in little things,
Often ending up in the same sentence
'Your father didn't give us enough
to cover your mistakes!'

Soon the fights become bigger,
Taunts begin to torment her
Then follow beating by her husband
Though she lives through all the abuse

And one day ,
When she fails to ask her poor parents
For more money ,
He douses petrol on her
Lights the matchstick
And sets her ablaze!
