Turning Life Around
I wandered lonely through the years,
Where shadows cast their endless shade,
And whispered dreams, once full of fears,
Now beckon with a brighter blade.

But if I could turn my life around,
A new dawn would break upon my soul,
Where once was lost, now would be found,
And fractured parts would become whole.

All the sorrows past would melt away,
Like morning dew on fresh new grass,
As sunlight, in its golden sway,
Would banish clouds that overpass.

No longer trapped in dark despair,
I'd rise with hope, brand-new, reborn,
And breathe the sweet, untainted air,
Of a life where dreams are worn.

If only I could turn this old life around,
As gently as a breeze that blows,
I'd dance upon the fertile ground,
Where every dream in daylight grows.

All the mountains climbed, and rivers crossed,
Would strengthen every weary stride,
With wisdom gained from paths embossed,
And courage born from where I bide.

I pray the wind of change would one day shift,
And grant my spirt this precious gift
Then I'd shine brightly as the roses bloom
Shedding the cloak of fear and gloom.
As the rain becomes a lullaby
I'd spread my wings and learn to fly!!
