I shed light on memories
With dark intentions feeling
A sense of dread overtake my
Emotions amplifying my anxiety
As i face the music overcoming
The brutality of my mistakes
Through the grace of God

I scrub the stains from my heart
Feeling the rise of a new dawn
Shine through me as i journey into
Life with a new vision and goals
To keep myself clean and comfortable
In my own skin

I feel a fresh breath of air
Seep into my lungs as I
Walk the path of sobriety
Shifting my attention to
Amends that need to be made
Hoping to mend the hearts I
