NATURE'S PLAY
I wandered aimlessly under a serene canopy
Carrying, deep in me, a heart so noisy
Over me, an umbrella of a cool shade
In me, a cloud and a wondrous shadow
Silent leaves laid dry, the dead of the last seasons
A hundred eyes of trees, at me, stared on
And a hundred ears of trees, to my soul's musings, listened
Yes, I could feel.
My soul somehow smiled and got somewhat jolly
For, at last, it found ears that longed to listen
And eyes that would witness without judging
A little wind startled my thoughts
And I watched the canopy break into a smooth, patterned dance
And the dead that laid on the floor danced too with little murmurs
My little brooding smile erupted into a bigger grin
Like a fully blossomed flower that opens up to taste the sun's first morning kiss
And my heart was calmed still from the nature's play
That the cloud that floated in my soul thawed and watered clean, my heart
And the shadow in me vanished like a departing spirit
The midmorning walk ended with the evening's sun rays
That, really, was a nap too long under the beautiful, costless green blanket
