The one to grow old with
As your eyes shut
I knew it was over
As they opened it dawned on me
I was actually sober
I wish the night
Had more sheets rollovers
But the stars weren’t in our favor
If I was stronger
Your lips I’d still savor
Instead of nursing this drink
Mistaking the rum’s ripples
For your eyes’ blink
I lived to know your tomorrow
So long as you were holding
I enjoyed the sorrow
The sun through the rain
The laugh after the pain
Nothing could get in our way
But today is a reminder
That warm hearts can turn cold
Good food grows mold
Start a fire
And sit with the one you want to grow old
