You came into my life
just months ago
a soft ball of white fur
sticking to his mom always
for milk and warmth under her
then off she went to make another litter
there you were left out
sad, miserable yet you played with others
we loved and cared for you
yet you needed your mother
she went with the kittens of another
we didn't see you for days
and then you came back for two days
quiet,pitiful and agonised
nothing we or your father said
mattered anymore
you just silently hid for the car
to run over you , waiting for disaster
Why did you break our hearts
wasn't our love not enough
you died before our very eyes
what can I do, my dear kitten?
I had thought you'd be better with your mother,yet here now I falter
what could I have done to stop you
why didn't fate allow me to save you??
