Inside me there's a child wanting to be heard,
Trying to scream out the words but she's to scared.
Trying to be seen in her times of need,
Needing the attention but shes told its greed.
Having no trust and nothing but fear,
Secretly wiping away her painful tear.
Bottling it all up deep inside,
Searching for something she thinks she'll never find.
Its a painful burden for anyone to hold,
Craving some warmth, but receiving nothing but cold.
Reaching out for anyone to see,
How unhappy shes came to be.
Feeling alone with no one to talk to,
Fighting this hard battle she has to get through.
Wanting to fly free like a bird from its nest,
But always feeling like life is putting her to the test.
The child within in speaking out now,
But will she be heard someway, some how?
