Burdens of a Sister
Pursed lips and wide eyes
Always so tough when you cry
You take the blame for anothers lies
Simply because you love too truly
You’d trade whispers tearing your name
Than seeing your sister sink in shame
She brought it on herself
But you can’t stand to watch her lose
Every little thing you love too
You’re the victim
I always beg you to see
But you sigh with those tired eyes
And you tell me what I know by memory
With a soft painful smile
You breathe out the words unwillingly
“Family knows no shame”
“I’ll always take the blame”
