When We Weren't
Can we all recall a while back;
When we weren't yet heartbroken after been toyed with by the play of untrue love,
And made heartless by the madness of the today we live in,
When we were just a helpless babe in our mother's arms,
And the attention getters all day long,
When we weren't able to stand the very sight of our own blood,
And deafened our ears to the cry of the frail and fragile,
When we were a child at our father's knee,
And the pride and joy of our mothers,
I'm searching for where in the when between here and there to here,
Just to find when we weren't who we used to dream to become as children anymore...
