Lil' Nigga
Lil' Nigga

Just the very thought;
chokes me to tears
such a cumbersome weight
to bear
what assurances could I cling to,
a prescription to fill, that would alleviate crippling
fears
not a man yet,
still, the perception is a pathology that only begets death
And this caste, turns my very soul to stone
How does one consider passing on a lineage
of manila and cotton thorns
so much misery to see
and the requirement to flash smiles amongst rambling seas
What can i tell a lil' nigga
Be weary of the trigger
What could I possibly offer,
but generational debt to my son or daughter
What is there to make from a
Ghetto life
America's Dalit; why should I be forced to bestow unto you that cost and at what price
Only if I could shape you a
Rainbow
I would painstakingly bond,
hues of orange, amethyst and gold
As it is, I remain steadfast,
that this is how it ought to be,
with all of this futility buried with me.
