Diseased Cities
A deep-seated ache pounds within their chests
Steering lost minds into more helplessness
Hearing, knowing, and seeing only materiality
Deaf, dumb, and blind to what they can be
Blending in with the crowded discontent
Fueled by an inner sense of entitlement
Bodies will run amok while heads still roll
As the disease of fear quickly takes its toll
Observed by those on the fringe of society
Outside the madness herded into each city
Armed with perception, we hold our breath
While the unwitting volunteer for their own death
Cautionary words had been given
Woe to those who refused to listen
For to deny that which pains your reality
Wastes another free ticket out of that city
