Highschool
There's this teacher who says,

She sees the future in people eyes,

And when she looked at me, she said,

She didn't see a bright one in mine.

And this girl, she's smart and funny,

But she's only kind of nice,

Highschool's a bloody nightmare,

But I like to think I'll pass by,

I have no idea what I'm doing,

But hey, at least I try,

And there's a girl, let's call her holly,

She is less than half my size,

Thinks she's oh so funny,

I think she laughs when she lies,

And I miss doing things that I like,

And I don't really like to fight,

And I think far too seriously,

Of things that others take far too light,

And I loved looking at the stars,

But I was told that wouldn't get me far,

So now I spend clear nights copped up,

In my house of broken hearts,

And I don't think I believe them,

When they say these days are what they miss,

Because that makes me think it doesn't get better,

And it's just the way life is.

And I live through my worst nightmares,

Think I'll fail every class,

And I think my fears are based in logic,

How I hate it when they laugh.

And they're a thousand topics,

That I do not have the heart to ask,

And I don't think I ever see my teachers crack a smile,

And I figure that means it doesn't get better at all,

I force myself to go on,

But I've seen better people fall,

And I don't think my fear is unfounded,

So I just miss the way I used to laugh,

And the way the world was bright,

Now it looks like a modern coffee shop,

Full of posh old men and women,

Who would rather play a part
