As the evening comes to a close,
You were thinking about what you want to do with the rest of your life,
The clock chimed and something unusual took place...
You looked into the mirror
There you saw your older self
Sitting in a recliner by a crackling fire
Outside a storm raged
As if the apocalypse was near
Yet you sat there gently rocking
Unbothered unperturbed
As if enjoying the nature's drum beats
You slowly focus on the face of the elderly yourself
Lines you see wrinkles many firmly etched there
The crows feet around the eyes now deep
Saying the laughter never did leave your side
The eyes still sparkles with mirth
As they now rarely do hounded by tension & strife
The lips still had that easy smile
Watching that your heart felt light
It's just another day,
If that's my future I see,
I'm not far from the road I dreamed...!!!
