ebb and flow
two words
always seen together
but flow never knew
where she was going
so she went
searching for something
in the sea of nothing
coinciding with current
went with it
ebb was left wondering
when flow went missing
so he faced the current
little did they know
ebb now leans in for a kiss
flow thought all he does is tease
to ebb, flow was always an inch away
to flow, ebb always goes the other way
not in this current
nor in this current,
maybe someday
maybe in some bay
they'll finally meet at dead calm.
