In Grandma Bott's Kitchen
#WritcoPoemPrompt42
Write a poem focusing on a single memory, or describe what you might imagine the typical grandmother’s kitchen to be like.
In my Grandma Bott's Kitchen

The smells of fresh baked pies or cakes
a gentle and sweet grandma
she was always cooking or chatting
she always went home with a smile on her face
even after church services
a little makeup and an aporn on
with her home clothes on
her up in her curlers
she was always cheerful
nothing got her down
she doted on her family even me
even when she found out she had a great grand child
she was full of pride
the house always clean and bright
flowers and cats sat outside her door
though a farm house it was welcoming
with a few cows or pigs in the barn
and wild or stray cats that cought the mice
every weekend a meal so grand
even if it was just the four of us
she made a fuss if you didn't help out
she even tought me a few neat things
though i am no chef she always would say you will get it in time
a garden full of vegetables and a table set if you helped
that was my Grandma Bott's house.
That is the way I wish to remember her
though i have not alot of pictures of her
i do have one of her, my uncle and me
and though she is an angel in heaven
She will be forever in my heart

To my Grandma Ethel Eleene Bott
You are my fairy, and my butterfly
I love you
Your granddaughter
