THE COWBOY WAY
They sat around the camp fire when their longest day was done.
They'd spent  the day  huntin strays up by Dawson's run.

They cooked em up some beans and brats and opened up a bottle.
They talked of horses, trucks and women and what they do should they win the loto.

They reminisced about roundups they had been on and pickup trucks they'd owned.
About the toughest horses They had ever rode and all the dogs they'd knowed.

They told lies about big fish they'd swore they'd caught.
And talked about the guns they'd sold and bought.

Someone would tell a joke or three or four then some one else would tell a couple more.
They,d laughed at every joke  told but truth was most of the jokes they'd heard before.

They started telling stories most of them weren't true.
But they all acted like they believed em because that's what cowboys do.

Gator got his old guitar out and sang a song or two.
He sang willie's whisky river and the mule skinners blues.

The conversation started to wane and the fire was left to die.
Then Finaly they all fell asleep neath a star filled sky.

They would be up early next morning to work another long hard day.
And that evening around the campfire they'd do it all again  cause that's the cowboy way.
