Fires
Through reddend eye, at trees aglow, we stare

As golden embers tear

Through smoke-choked air

Await breathlessly a breeze blown, a sky fair

Rain a relief on dearly sought bank loan, rare

Fires rage, a furnace bellows blown torch

In built up forest floors smoulders scorch

Through the detrius of dampened flame's torch

In trailheads anointed by fighting fortune's courche

Smaller burns by humble hubris held off our porch

Mother's pained sigh brought to bear

As giant monsters birthed in destructive care

Through kindest kindling tear

Through canopy crowns dried by sun's glare

Through branches sorely tried by breath-warmed air
