Just Sit (prose)
My mother used to tell me
That mother nature is angry,
When thunder claps
Cars roaring their engines
'Mom, we're running out of hospital masks'
She comes to me in my dreams, she tells me to watch the people.
I say 'mom, they're dying '
She says
'But baby;
They've always been starving'
She tells me
That she loves me as the rain starts pouring
She screams over the earth mourning
Tears flow like polar caps melt
hearts as empy as grocery store shelves.
She says, don't travel
She says - just sit
She tells me that she's here
I tell her that im scared, that I'm broken
She shows me a make shift hospital bed
I see strength, and sadness in brown eyes that look like mine
I see countries collapsing,
Families falling apart.
Wild fires
Children crying

I sit here and listen to panic rise
'Mom', I say 'what do i do'
She tells me to sit on the bench in the waiting room,
She tells me heavens short staffed
And they're calling code blue

Then angels emerge with scrubs and masks
Even they have a job to do
