Write a poem about a time that your illusions of someone or something were shattered.

Years pass and secrets unfold
I reminisce all the lies I've been told
You weren't the angel I painted in my head
You were a devil from the depths of hell
Your eyes were scarlet red and I said
Maybe he always cried
Perhaps he has seen miserable sights
But I was wrong and I didn't know
I gave you my heart to break in two
I gave you my hand to lead me away
I didn't know away was hell
And now I have your wicked smile
And your scarlet eyes
The warmth of your hands and the coldness of your gaze
The fire in your heart turned mine to ashes
But I learnt to live without a heart
Perhaps I'll never love again
Or I'll never love anyone as much as I loved you
For I can't touch another heart without melting it
I can't kiss other lips without feeling yours
Years pass and secrets unfold
And I still reminisce the love you ruined.
