Midnight Stroll 🚶♂️
It's time for another midnight stroll.
The heat of the day has subsided,
the breeze lays down its brutal demands.
I saunter into the night,
lugging around the memories
of a lifetime.
A horizon of pure uncharted
territory,
awaits my heavy foot.
The swirling engagement of time itself.
I cannot explain why I'm out
but it feels good to be free again.
The broken glass on the floor
is mixed in with broken promises.
There is a calmness,
a stillness if you like.
I keep my head low
and my view in line,
the silence is deafening.
