I feel like my soul
Is a little confused
For it’s been battered and beaten
And a little abused

You may not think
That my story is true
But what do you know?
It didn’t happen to you.

You may believe
My life’s heaven sent
But I can assure you
That’s not how it went

Nothing came easy
It’s always a fight
But still I keep trying
To do what is right

Unless you’ve walked
A few miles in my shoes
It my be difficult to understand
My point of view

So while you sit there
With your judgement and blame
Perhaps you should try living it,
And see if your results, are the same.
