what truly matters 🕊️
As I skipped through the garden gate,
An elderly lady gave me a smile,
Like a light flickering in the rain,
I knew I should stop and wait.

Although she moved at slower pace,
With gentle footstep and stride,
She gleamed with life’s journey,
Beauty in heart and golden grace.

We talked and laughed for a while,
With joy and memories to hold,
She said I have plenty of time yet,
I thanked her and then released a smile.

She became like a grandmother,
Through the years to come,
I’d visit her house for hours, she’d smile,
Until one day I blinked and she was gone.

Old and Young do unite,
No barrier or distance too great,
Both hold beauty, from seed to tree,
If only the world could know and see.

Two souls with different experience,
One fresh and ready to explore,
One content and happy to be,
No one knows what’s in store.

From end to the start,
All withold an inner child,
Love abides in every soul,
What truly matters is the heart.
