Once in Love
#WritcoPoemPrompt121
Your notes are the only things I have left
a lingering melody that floats by
your words, touch, and feel still warm
my mind wandering on chains wishing to fly
Where are you now, over that distant golden dawn?
Have you gone too far that even my fingertips can't reach
My pool of tears steal my fading breath, my soul
I am broken and lonely as my heartbeats cease
As my light dies alone, devoured in the darkest embrace
I finally see your face, so lovely this memory is
Your melody faint as it floats, disappearing in the wind
I'm left a shell that once had only love to give
